For every family event we get Helfer's cakes. One year my mom was unable to get a cake for my baby shower. The first questions out of my mouth was, "is it a helfer's cake? " My mom devastatingly said, "No". Whipped cream cakes are our favorite!!! Though sometimes we do the butter cream if we won't be able to refrigerate. Both are fantastic!!! By the way, nobody does chicken salad like Helfer's. The best!!

Thank you. We went to Helfers today for the first time. Someone where I work brought in a stollen last week. It was so good that I asked where she got it, and it was Helfers. I looked it up on line, found out where it was and signed up for the Gift Certificate just for fun. We decided we would go to Helfers today for breakfast since we were both off, and try out some pastries. Then last night we discovered that I won a certificate. Wonderful! The pastries were great and the coffee was equally good. Thank you again - and we'll be back.

My husband and I had the Rose Petal Delight as our wedding cake. Most people save the top of their cake and eat it for their first anniversary. It was so good that we couldn't wait. So we started a new tradition. Every year on our anniversary, we order a new top of the cake. This way, we can enjoy it every year. We also had a Helfer's cake for our son's Baptism and his first Birthday. YUMMY!! Thank you and keep up the yummy work.

My daughters and I recently hosted a bridal shower for my niece at Helfer's Pastries & Deli Cafe. Barb and her staff were wonderful! Althought special occasion cakes from Helfer's have graced many of our family events over the past several years the shower guests were pleasantly surprised to see the party room upstairs. I purchases a wedding cake for my daughters wedding Oct 20, 2007, and I wanted to let you know the remarks on the cake were wonderful. My brother has been stationed all over the world, living in Greece, England. He stated he has never had a cake so moist and not gooey, and it was by far the best cake he had ever had. The first time I ordered a cake here it was for my Rehersal dinner, It was the best cake ever, even better then my wedding cake the next night. This was back on Aug 11 2006, I was suppose to have a friend pick it up for me but she forgot, when I realized this, I called and they said they were closing soon, but they would wait for someone to pick it up. I am amazed at this, not too many places would go out of there way like that.

The cake that was ordered for my daughter's Baby Shower was so delicious and pretty. All the guests kept asking where did we get the cake and I proudly told them "Helfer's Pastries, of course they are the best." I won't go to another bakery ever, why should I? I always get great service and great products from your shop. I want you to know that I go there more frequently now even if it's out of the way, whether I really need something or not. A few days ago my brother JP and I came in to talk to the owner about doing advertising with our company the Value Pages. The owner was too busy to talk with us and I ordered a dream boat and he got a cannoli. We both got drinks and we spent less than $5 total. Both of us were very impressed by the taste and satisfied with what we got and the price we paid. My name is Dan Siemer. Grew up in Florissant. I live at Olive and I-270 now in St. Monica's parish. We have a retirement convent on the property. Everytime I am near your store, I pick up one coffee cake for us, one for the rectory, and one for the convent. The nuns at the convent just rave about them. I am graced with a round of prayers everytime I deliver one to them. A few more and I might have enough prayers to get me to Heaven! It really warms my heart. It is the best $4.00 I spend per week. We "discovered" your bakery about two years ago. Your baked goods are of high quality and very delicious. We started buying your products for ourselves and other family members. Now, we also purchase weekly two to three items (stolens, butter coffee cake, cheese cakes, weekly specials, etc.) to share with members of our weekly Wednesday Bible class held at our church near downtown St. Louis. Seldom are there any "left-overs". Your baked goods have been taken to Muskogee, OK and to Houston, TX - and always received with many thanks. Your employees are always very friendly and helpful. We look forward to visiting your store and also look forward to your deli. Our dad was a baker arriving from Germany in the late 1920s. He owned a bakery on Park Avenue near Lafayette Park in St. Louis and later near St. Louis Park in north St. Louis. Your baked goods remind us of h is products as he was very particular about what he sold.
